Camera Shots Quiz:
On this assignment, we were told to choose one or two inanimate objects and tell a story with these items in 15 shots. We were to use the shots, angles, and composition and movement we had learned in class up to that point.
My partner and I decided to choose both our water bottles to convey a story. Our story was based on a decision between a new and an old water bottle.
When approaching this project, my partner and I envisioned a story using our water bottles. We used the shots and techniques we had learnt in our previous classes. We made it clear which bottle was which through two different close-ups. In one, we used the old water bottle, showing its scratches and how worn out it was. In the second close-up up we made the new water bottle look more pristine and bigger to show how it was a better option. We used water to display the emotions from the water bottles in certain shots.
I feel like my partner and I did a great job following the directions. We did a great job, but at the same time, there were some aspects we could have improved in. We could have elaborated our story better with more detail. My favorite shot was the extreme close-up. This is because we depicted the "emotion" of the old water bottle with the water running down the bottle cap. Another shot that I felt was great was our final long shot due to the detail that was shown on the water bottle.
